Zodiacal Releasing drafted as a living narrative, the angular triads, peak periods and loosings of the bond that divide a life into chapters, with the tone and ruler of every period delineated from the birth chart.
Hours east of Greenwich, auto-filled from place & date. Override for unusual cases.
Whole-sign releasing in the lineage of Valens. Periods use 360-day years & 30-day months; each sub-period is 1/12 of its parent. Low-precision ephemeris (sign & degree). Enter the UTC offset in effect at birth (include historical daylight saving).
A quick orientation to Zodiacal Releasing, the timeline underneath everything else in this reading. Come back to this tab any time something feels unfamiliar.
Zodiacal Releasing (ZR) takes your birth chart and turns it into a timeline, pressing play on the chart you were born with. It shows which themes, houses, and planets are most active in any stretch of your life. It won't tell you exactly what will happen, but it names the quality and subject of the chapter you're in, so you can meet it prepared.
Your sect, whether you were born by day or night, sorts your planets into two teams and is the single biggest ingredient in a period's tone:
Periods touched by your ally tend to bring ease and support; those touched by your tougher planet bring the more effortful chapters, workable obstacles, not doom.
In a Zodiacal Releasing timeline, you will see L1, L2, L3, and L4. L stands for level. Each level zooms in on the one before it, and every level is happening at once; you are always inside all four simultaneously, like a nesting doll.
Distinguishing the levels helps if you think about your life like a book, as seen in the graphic below. In a given chapter (L1), you'll have many pages (L2), which contain several paragraphs (L3) and sentences (L4). Notice how even at the sentence level, that sentence is still part of the paragraph, page, and chapter holding it. The same is true of your timeline: a rough sentence can sit inside a wonderful chapter, and a wonderful sentence can sit inside a demanding paragraph. Nothing on a lower level ever overrides what the higher levels promise; it just adds texture to it.
Each period carries a tone (favorable, mixed, surmountable, difficult, or quiet) based on how that zodiac sign is set up in your birth chart. For example, a Capricorn period would be favorable for a day chart with Saturn in Capricorn, but challenging for a night chart with the same placement.
The important thing to remember is this is an energetic weather report, not a verdict. “Difficult” does not mean "joyless". Remember spiritual growth often feels materially challenging. Use the tone to orient, but trust your own experience–use the date ranges below to help you reflect on periods that have already happeend.
Below are the angular triads in your birth chart and how to work with each zodiacal period as it's activated in your zodiacal releasing. Below this table, you'll find more detailed breakdowns and date ranges.
Whole-sign Zodiacal Releasing · 360-day years, 30-day months · peaks measured by modality from the Lot of Fortune · loosing of the bond jumps to the opposite sign once per parent period. Each subplot's breakdown is a starting point. Edit it before sharing.
Spirit on the left, Fortune on the right, read straight across to compare what is happening on each at any age. Each L1 chapter lists its dates, then its L2 sub-periods beneath. The dot colour is the period's quality.
Both timelines released whole-sign on 360-day years (30-day months). Convergence = the same whole sign activated on Spirit and Fortune at once (shared-sign) or both timelines in a peak period together (twin peak). Use the side-by-side tables above to read the exact dates of every chapter and sub-period.
